Football is the most popular sport in the world today and has been for many years. On average 250 million people will be playing the game right now as you read this from around the world.
The game started out not know very well by people and no one called it football back then as during the 1rst and third centuries BC was when identical games such as "Cuju" which was played in Asia in countries such as "China" in military exercises and the first evidence of football in Europe was a game called "Episkryos".
The rules were also slightly different back then as the game involved more handling of the ball then kicking the ball and in football to date you are not allowed use your hands as this is considered a foul in the game. Football first appeared in England in the eight century and back then it was not popular at all however as time started to go by the sport began to get more and more popular and the rules started to change as people started to prefer to use there feet instead of their hands and they found this more enjoyable. The very first and oldest competition in football today is known as the "FA Cup" and was founded by a man named " CW Adcock" and has been played by the English teams since 1872.
As technology has developed more and more over the years it has become certain that football is developing into a better sport as we know it today, Today we have goal line technology known as "Hawk Eye" which is used in matches to determine if the ball did actually go into the goal in certain circumstances and there is also a shaving foam spray that is used to stop the wall creeping when it is a free kick. ( the wall is a line of people 2-5 who stand in front of the player taking the free kick to try and stop him scoring.) Football is played all over the world and grows and grows every day as more and more people learn about it, so by saying this I am telling you that football is not just some local thing played by a group of kids it is fact a very professional sport that is played in almost every single county in the world today.
